"I believe boomers (born 1946-1964) - especially women - will continue to be the most powerful consumers in the U.S. for the next one to two decades. We make the majority of buying decisions for up to four generations - our parents, ourselves, our kids and grandkids. We spend $2 trillion worth of goods and services per year. That's 2.5 times as much as younger consumers spend on a per capita basis."
Cathy Hamilton is an award-winning multimedia journalist (TV/print/web) and marketing veteran specializing in baby boomers - a.k.a. the "silver tsunami"- retirement and aging issues.
